Massage Journey Academy

Massage Journey Academy offers a 500-hour Massage Therapy Program designed to meet the educational requirements established by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

The program includes:

• 250 Hours of Curriculum & Instruction
• 200 Hours of Hands-On Practical Training
• 50 Hours of Supervised Internship

The instructional portion of the program is designed to be completed in approximately six months, with additional time allotted for completion of internship requirements.

Hands-On Training & Internship

​

Students participate in supervised hands-on practical training throughout the program to develop confidence, professionalism, communication skills, body mechanics, and real-world massage experience.

After completion of 250 program hours, students become eligible to begin supervised internship hours working with members of the public under instructor supervision.

Enrollment Process

• Submit the Student Interest Form

• Complete onboarding videos and handbook review

• Complete the Handbook Acknowledgment Quiz

• Meet with administration for enrollment

• Submit enrollment paperwork and tuition agreement

• Apply for the required TDLR student permit

• Begin hands-on instruction upon permit approval

Licensure Information

Massage Journey Academy prepares students for massage therapy licensure eligibility in the state of Texas.

Completion of the program allows students to apply for the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEX) and continue the licensure process through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).

Additional requirements such as fingerprinting, background checks, licensing fees, and examination registration are regulated by the state and are the responsibility of the student.

Massage Journey Academy does not administer the MBLEX examination or issue massage therapy licenses.

Students may occasionally be offered optional enrichment demonstrations and specialty modality education beyond the required curriculum.

These demonstrations are intended to expand awareness of the many pathways within the massage and wellness industry.
